Delete Your Account & Data
Last updated: July 21, 2026
You have the right to delete your Summara Health account and all associated personal data at any time. This page explains exactly how to do that, what gets deleted, and what (if anything) may be retained.
Option 1 — Delete from Inside the App
The fastest way is to delete your account directly from the Summara Health mobile app:
- Open the Summara Health app on your iPhone or Android device
- Tap the Profile tab
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account
- Confirm your choice
Your account and all associated personal data will be permanently deleted immediately.
Option 2 — Request Deletion by Email
If you no longer have access to the app, or if you would prefer not to sign in, you may email us to request deletion.
Send an email to:
[email protected]Please include:
- The email address associated with your Summara Health account
- The subject line: Account Deletion Request
We will verify your identity, delete your account, and confirm completion by email within 30 days (usually much sooner — typically within 3 business days).
What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, we permanently remove:
- Your email address, name, and password
- All medical records, notes, and text you have entered into the app
- All AI translations and chat conversation history
- Your medical timeline
- All voice recordings (these are already deleted immediately after transcription — nothing is stored long-term)
- Care Circle household memberships (you are removed from any household you belong to)
- Your user profile and any preferences
What May Be Retained
A limited amount of data may be retained for legal, security, and financial-compliance reasons. This retained data is minimal and cannot be used to identify you:
- Transaction records — anonymized purchase records may be retained for up to 7 years to comply with US tax and accounting law. These records do not contain your name, email, or any medical information.
- Security logs — non-identifying event logs (e.g., "an account was deleted at this timestamp") may be retained for up to 90 days to detect fraud or abuse.
- Backup snapshots — our encrypted database backups may temporarily contain a copy of your data for up to 30 days after deletion, after which the backups are overwritten. During this period the data is not accessible to anyone.
Subscription Cancellations
Deleting your account does not automatically cancel any active in-app subscription. To cancel a subscription:
- iPhone / iPad: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Summara Pro → Cancel
- Android: Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Summara Pro → Cancel
We recommend cancelling your subscription before deleting your account so you retain access through the end of your current billing period.
Third-Party Data
Summara Health uses a small number of trusted service providers (for example, our email delivery provider and our AI language translation provider). When you delete your account, we instruct these providers to also delete any of your data that they may hold on our behalf. Each provider processes this request according to its own retention policies, but typically within 30 days.
